Performance, Advantages, and Application Fields of Redispersible Emulsion Powder

Redispersible emulsion powder is a kind of water-soluble redispersible powder, which is made by spray drying the powder binder of copolymer of ethylene/vinyl acetate, copolymer of vinyl acetate/vinyl versatate, acrylic copolymer, etc., with polyvinyl alcohol as the protective colloid. This powder can be quickly redispersed into emulsion after contacting with water. Due to its high bonding capacity and unique properties such as water resistance, ease of application, and heat insulation, redispersible emulsion powders have a wide range of applications.

Performance Characteristics

It possesses extremely outstanding bonding strength, enhances the flexibility of mortar and has a longer open time, giving mortar excellent alkali resistance. In addition to improving the adhesive properties, bonding strength, flexural strength, waterproofing, plasticity, abrasion resistance, and workability of the mortar, it also demonstrates strong flexibility in flexible anti-crack mortar.

Application Fields

I. External Wall Thermal Insulation System:
Bonding Mortar: Ensures strong adhesion between the mortar, the wall, and the EPS board, improving bonding strength.
Plastering Mortar: Ensures the mechanical strength, crack resistance, durability, and impact resistance of the thermal insulation system.

II. Tile Adhesive and Grouting Agent:
Tile Adhesive: Provides high-strength bonding for the mortar, giving it sufficient flexibility to accommodate the different thermal expansion coefficients of the substrate and tiles.
Grouting Agent: Provides impermeability to the mortar, preventing water ingress. It also has good adhesion to tile edges, low shrinkage, and flexibility.

III. Tile Refurbishment and Wood Panel Plastering Putty: Enhances the adhesion and bonding strength of putty on special substrates (such as tile surfaces, mosaics, veneer panels, and other smooth surfaces), ensuring good flexibility to accommodate the expansion coefficients of the substrates.

IV. Interior and Exterior Wall Putty: Enhances the bonding strength of the putty, ensuring a certain degree of flexibility to buffer the effects of different expansion coefficients of different substrates. Ensures good aging resistance, impermeability, and moisture resistance.

V. Self-Leveling Flooring Mortar: Ensures the compatibility of the mortar's elastic modulus with its flexural strength and crack resistance. Improves the mortar's wear resistance, bonding strength, and cohesion.

VI. Interface Mortar: Enhances the surface strength of the substrate, ensuring the mortar's bonding force.

VII. Cement-Based Waterproof Mortar: Ensures the waterproof performance of the mortar coating while having good adhesion to the substrate, improving the mortar's compressive and flexural strengths.

VIII. Repair Mortar: Ensures the compatibility of the mortar's expansion coefficient with the substrate, reducing the mortar's elastic modulus. Ensures sufficient water repellency, breathability, and bonding force.

IX. Masonry and Plastering Mortar: Improves water retention, reducing water loss from porous substrates. Improves ease of application and work efficiency.

Advantages

No need to store and transport with water, which can reduce transportation costs; longer shelf life, frost-resistant, easy to keep; small package size, light weight, easy to use; can be mixed with water-condensable binder to make a synthetic resin modified pre-mixed material, which only requires adding water during use, thus not only avoiding mistakes during mixing at the construction site, but also improving the safety of product handling.
