Redispersible Polymer Powder (RDP) is a water-soluble polymer, which is made of ethylene vinyl acetate (EVA) polymer through spray drying. It is specially designed for the construction industry to improve the performance of dry mixed mortar.

RDP is always used in combination with cellulose ether and other additives to improve the performance and properties of cement-based or gypsum based mortar, such as better water retention, opening time, better workability, increased adhesion to various substrates, and higher bending strength and flexibility.

RDP can be divided into two categories based on its use: one is RDP that cannot form a film at room temperature after being re dispersed, mainly used for modifying cement or cement mortar, improving the elasticity of the final product, and reducing the tendency to crack; Another type is RDP, which can form a film at room temperature after redispersion, and can be used as a film-forming material or auxiliary film-forming material for zero VOC redispersion dry powder coatings, cement-based ceramic tile adhesives.

The characteristics of RDP are generally: increased adhesive strength, higher bending strength, excellent rheological properties, improved workability, excellent durability and wear resistance, improved water retention capacity and opening time, low water resistance and water absorption rate.

The most important aspect of its technical capability is to enhance waterproof performance and form films with high tensile and adhesive strength on different substrates.
